Support
Fund the program.
Post 1924 raises private charitable support so that young people in McAllen have the equipment, instruction and opportunities the program requires. Every contribution is recorded, acknowledged, and reported against what it paid for.

A note on tax treatment: where a sponsorship includes advertising or promotional value, part or all of the payment may not be deductible as a charitable contribution. Your receipt will state exactly what was provided. We recommend speaking with your own tax advisor.
In kind
Not everyone gives money.
Some of the most useful support we receive never touches a bank account. If your business can provide any of the following, it goes directly into the program.
- Food and drinks for fundraising events
- Printing, signage and banners
- Hotel rooms for competition travel
- Transportation and fuel
- Training equipment and supplies
- Meeting or event space
- Professional services — photography, accounting, repairs
- Prizes for approved fundraising promotions
For donated goods we issue a written acknowledgment describing the item. Under IRS rules the organization does not assign a value to donated property — that determination belongs to you and your tax advisor. Donated services are generally not deductible as charitable contributions, though we are no less grateful for them.
Other ways to help
- Employer matching — many employers match charitable gifts. Ask yours; it can double what you give at no extra cost.
- Volunteer — there is real work that does not involve being around young people: logistics, fundraising administration, equipment preparation, event setup. Get in touch.
- Attend a fundraiser — buy a plate, bring your family, tell someone else.
- Spread the word — tell a family with a teenager who needs somewhere to belong.
